Summer learning journey

For this activity we had to design our own kowhaiwhai and tell everyone what they mean.

What mine is about is the heart is the love that I share for my friends and family on the inside there is a simble that represents strength and some other designs in there I hope you like it.

  1. Kia Ora Jemma,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey.

I thought this activity was very interesting as it teaches you about Tānerore who you are able to see often on these hot summer days and about the infamous kowhaiwhai pattern seen throughout Māori culture. Have you seen the kowhaiwhai pattern before maybe at a marae or museum?

I thought your Kowhaiwhai pattern was drawn really well and I like that you made your korus and mangopare pattern into the shape of a heart, it is a great idea and a beautiful symbol.
Have you considered coloring your pattern in, I think it would look lovely with some nice bright colors.

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates
